JUST GOOD THINGS // Christmas Surf, Ribbon Dancers, & Getting Healthy

2012 is coming to a close... tomorrow (!!!). Are you serious? Definitely felt like this year was a doozie. I think just like any overly ecstatic person, I will fist pump the air and yell, "Yes, 2013!" when the New Year's bell tolls. I can only think that, in the future, when I look back on 2012 I will probably smack my face like one would when you realize how your past crushes were so lame. Or when someone says something totally out of place. A Homer Simpson "D'OH!" year. But yet, I still have gratitude. Honestly, you can never have enough -- it keeps the joy in your life! Here are a few recent things that made me prettay, prettaaay happy:

Getting to witness this woman do a ribbon/scarf dance right off the Venice Beach pier on Christmas Day. People staring? Pointing? Laughing? Yet, you still put your hands in the air and you wave 'em around like you just don't care? You go, Glen CoCo!

Getting photos back from this past summer and being reminded of the soggiest ice cream cones known to man. My Canon AE1 battery died back in about September or so and I was just too damn lazy to buy a $6 battery and finish off the roll. I finally bought one off of amazon and snapped a few to get gems like this back. My friend McKenna and I went and got these drippy cones one day on the boardwalk and it makes me so excited for warm weather again!

Being so close to such cool things, like Deus Ex Machina. Venice just keeps getting cooler and cooler and I love seeing community grow. I want to get involved somehow so that is definitely on the DO list for the coming year.

Vitamins! I started taking a multivitamin, Spirulina (powder form, not pictured), MSM and biotin mid-December. Holy biotin! Only after about two weeks, I've noticed my nails are stronger and my hair is getting shinier. It also helps with your skin breakouts. MSM helps with healthy joints as well as a good immune and nervous system. I'll definitely report back if I see any big changes!

And a few more things:
Meeting new friends • starting to love downtown • outgrowing your old skin • surfing more • getting fresh air • having motivating friends • finally making an editorial calendar • finally buying that gym membership and investing in myself!

What have you been happy about lately?
