Saturday consisted of taking my friend Dana's photos for her blog as well as for my new Etsy shop I hope to be opening up in the next few weeks. I've written product descriptions for my job in Orange County but it's a completely different ballpark writing them for yourself! Not to mention any sort of packaging, shipping and extras to think about (making sure you basically have a legit business!). We walked around the Venice Canals and played tourist. I wonder how many times people living there have heard people OOOing and AHHHing over their abodes?
I admit, I wasn't the smartest person wearing a suede skirt in what is basically the Satan's armpit of a heatwave we're having right now in Southern California. I woke up around 8:30 am this morning and it was already about 85 degrees... EIGHTY-FIVE at EIGHT THIRTY in the morning! Do the math, no bueno. So take note of the obvious ladies, don't wear hot crap in hot weather. I did get to top it off with a nice lace/crocheted tank top with a plain white tank underneath so I didn't flash the girls to unsuspecting victims.
The crocheted top is from Marshalls or TJmaxx( I cannot remember)--which, after recently discovering they started to carry Jeffrey Campbells, have become the best stores ever. That bearsuit of a skirt is from an Ohio thrift store and will promptly be either burned or cut short after this last wear (haven't decided what is the fate of this article of clothing yet). The awesome belt is from gap and is purely there for aesthetic reasons, cause really, I don't think this skirt is going anywhere.
My roommate gave me her Maybelline lip stains and I have to say, I quite like them. I have a purple one that becomes a sort of plum after some application time and in the photo above I'm wearing a nice pink that gives your mouth a punch without looking too fussy. Anyone else have a favorite lip stain or low maintenance product they can't live without?
